Imaging recource: April numbers show 40% increase in DSLR shipments, stagnant for mirrorless

Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) has published the numbers for April camera shipments. According to the publication, DSLR shipments have increased roughly 40%, a surprising stat when you take into consideration DSLR sales declined steadily over the past few years. As positive as these numbers appear, similar spikes have happened in previous years, presumably due to the Spring availability of cameras announced during January and February tradeshows such as CES, CP Plus and WPPI.
