We’ve shared a number of patents from Canon recently, but its latest might just take the cake for the most interesting. Canon has apparently filed a patent for a DSLR body cap that lubricates the lens mount. Originally filed back in December of 2013, the patent breaks down the concept of a body cap that uses a porous plastic material to slightly lubricate the mount as the cap is put on and taken off.
