A new patent from Canon details the schematics for what could be a new kit lens for its APS-C DSLR cameras. The patent, originally filed in February of 2014, shows off an EF-S 15–53mm f/2.8–4 lens; a focal length and aperture range that could very well point at the arrival of a newer, faster kit lens for Canon’s entry-level DSLRs.
