Skimmer Coming At Ya! by backcountrygallery at http://ift.tt/11amCft

Learn wildlife photography: http://ift.tt/1zrPeXh Skimmers are so cool! They glide along, just above the water’s surface, scooping up small minnows in their beaks as they go – it’s really something to watch if you’ve never seen it before. Photographing them is a bit of a challenge because they zip by really fast, making it tough to keep them in the frame, especially at close range with a long lens. That, and the camera sometimes isn’t sure just where to focus – on the bird or its reflection (or the water, waves, etc). I had always wanted to capture an image of a skimmer coming right towards me while he was fishing. This guy would come my way from time to time, but either I’d miss the shot or he’d veer off to soon. Finally, everything came together and I was able to capture this image. Mark another one off the list :) via 500px http://ift.tt/1Tuhr7p
