Imaging recource: Canon 4000D: Dumb idea or canny plan? (Please let it be the latter…)

This will be a quick piece, because I'm still running around the CP+ show here in Yokohama, and have a lot of prep work to do for a packed schedule of meetings next week. So apologies for any rough edges, grammatical errors, etc... I just read Jeremy's opinion piece on the newly-announced (in some parts of the world, but not the US) Canon EOS 4000D, though, and a thought occurred to me: What if things aren't quite as they appear on the surface, and it isn't a totally dumb idea?
