Sony has announced a new smartphone that aims to redefine mobile photography. The Xperia PRO-I smartphone is the world's first to include a 1.0-type image sensor with phase-detection autofocus. We also think it's one of the first of its kind to be available in North America with a 1.0-type sensor. However, there are 1.0-type smartphones available in some Asian markets, and the Panasonic CM1, for example, did make its way to US shores back in 2014.
